MEET MIKE BRODIE

In 2003, aged 18, Brodie left home to go freighthopping across the USA. A friend gave him a camera and he subsequently spent three years photographing people he encountered, largely train-hoppers, vagabondssquatters and hobos.

Brodie has now produced two bodies of work from this experience, Tones of Dirt and Bone and A Period of Juvenile Prosperity, which have been exhibited in galleries and become books.
